Theatre group take to Pinchbeck stage

V COMMUNITY

Theatre-lovers are in for a treat on Friday night when Cutwater Productions take to the stage with their adaptation of Ill Met By Moonlight.

The show takes place at Pinchbeck Village Hall from 7.30pm.

The play is set on the English/Welsh border at a time not so long ago when rural superstition was rife.

A descendant of Puck still roams the countryside causing mayhem and madness wherever he goes.

By his shape-changing interference, he attempts to thwart the growing love between two lonely country folk.

The results of his malicious meddling are often hilarious and sometimes tragic.

Will he be triumphant or will true love shine through?

Ill Met By Moonlight was Cutwater’s very first production, so this new spring 2014 version fittingly marks the company’s first ten years.

Cutwater Productions is a community-based independent company of writers, producers and performers.

Since its formation in 2004, Cutwater has staged an eclectic range of shows, initially at the Sam Newsom Music Centre and Blackfriars Arts Centre in Boston before branching out into village tours.

This has taken the company to more than 20 venues across Lincolnshire from Scunthorpe to Long Sutton.

The event has been organised by the Pinchbeck Village Hall committee as part of a fundraising programme to refurbish the building’s old toilet block and build a new disabled toilet.

It’s the first time the committee has hosted a stage play and they are hoping it will be well supported.

Tickets for the show are £5 in advance from 01775 722200 or £6 on the doors.

Tea, coffee and light refreshment will be available but no bar so take your own alcohol along if you wish.
