LETTERS – No surprise that road isn’t open

Surprise, surprise, due to damage done to a sewer, and blaming bad weather, the road between Surfleet and Pinchbeck will not be reopened for yet another week.
May I respectfully request that Lincolnshire Highways Department inform Burmor Construction of two facts:

  1. The past three months has been a period of winter when we expect bad weather. Perhaps they can now factor this into any future work.
  2. Christmas is almost nine months away and the general public would appreciate the road open a week or so before December 25 to carry out their Christmas shopping.
