LETTERS – Fly tipping needs to stop

When is something going to be done about the amount of fly tipping happening in Holbeach, especially around the St John’s Street area?

Every week, if not every other day, there is a sofa, mattresses, high chairs, bags of rubbish that aren’t suitable for refuse collection or recycling.

We seem to live in a time where people just want rubbish off of their own property so are more than happy to dump it on or near someone else’s.

For the few people who do actually care about the area they live in, it’s an upsetting trend that doesn’t look as it’ll go away any time soon.

Cameras need putting up or more fines need to be issued so these people begin to realise there are consequences to their actions.

A while back there were letters sent out from SHDC because refuse bags were being put out too early but they aren’t bothered about doing anything regarding the constant fly tipping.

With all the new homes being built in Holbeach this isn’t a situation that will improve anytime soon.
