LETTERS – Fortunate to have Sir John Hayes

Last week I had the opportunity to complete work experience in the office of Sir John Hayes; our excellent local MP.

During the time I was with him I came to appreciate how much Sir John does in Parliament and how widely respected he is by MPs from other areas.

In the days I was there not only did he speak in the House, making the case for public health and vaccine safety, but I was also there to see him chair a meeting of the All Party Group on Hemochromatosis and I attended a meeting with him and the Horticultural Trade Association.

Additionally, I was lucky enough to go with Sir John to the Institute of Couriers 26th National Awards Dinner in which he spoke to 250 people and distributed numerous awards.

He also attended the Intelligence and Security committee, as he does every week.

He assembled and led a group of MPs to meet with the Chancellor of the Exchequer to discuss the economic challenges facing Britons.

Party politics aside, I can confirm what most people don’t get to see is that Sir John is an exceptionally good MP and we in South Holland and the Deepings are fortunate to have him represent us.
