Crowland draw their first blank of season

The race for the GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League title is heating up. A second consecutive draw for Crowland Town saw them close the gap on second-placed Stanground Cardea Sport to just four points, with six games in hand.
However, it meant they lost ground on leaders Uppingham Town, who are eight points clear of the Snowden Field outfit, from four games more.
The destiny of the title looks to be down to a straight battle between Crowland and the current leaders with the pair due to meet home and away in 10 days in April.
A 0-0 draw at Whittlesey Athletic Reserves saw Crowland fail to score in a league game for the first time this season.
Waiting for the two title favourites to slip up are reigning champions Moulton Harrox. They are up to fifth place after a 4-1 win at Stanground pulled them to within 14 points of top spot but from four games fewer.
Moulton fell a goal behind after eight minutes but equalised on the stroke of half-time and then pulled clear after the break. Their goals came from Declan Earth 2, Harry Machin and substitute Marcus Parry.
Fourth-placed Warboys Town also harbour outside title hopes and a 2-0 win at Holbeach United Reserves leaves the bottom-placed Tigers’ second string still six points away from avoiding the wooden spoon with five games to play.
