Landmark totals at Crowland Parkrun

Jon Pentelow was among 13 first-timers at a soggy Snowden Field Parkrun on Saturday, finishing 14th of 70 runners in 24 minutes and 56 seconds.
Although it was his first visit to the Crowland venue, it was the King’s Lynn Renegade Runners’ 200th Parkrun, a landmark also reached by John Williams, who completed the run in 29:56. Peterborough & Nene Valley AC athlete Louie Hemmings was first across the line, with the 11-14 age category runner completing the 5K course in 17:38.
The solitary Halmer Harrier in the field was Rebecca Pearce, who finished 41st in 31:39. Meanwhile, race director Simon Eldridge completed his 100th stint as a volunteer.
Elsewhere, four ‘tourists’ took on the Vermuyden Way Parkrun near Scunthorpe. Adam Caress was fourth of 112 finishers in 20:40, with Jayne Pell 88th, 37:19, Katherine Baxter 104th, 52:21, and Kathryn Chapman 105th, 52:59.
At the University Parks event in Oxford, Daisy Jowers was 152nd of 574 finishers in 24:52. Steve Lane travelled to Peterborough for the Ferry Meadows Parkrun and came 92nd of 600 in 23:50.
