Air cadets enjoy a soaking

Members of an air cadet group found themselves soaked to the skin when they visited Holbeach Fire Station.
The 2430 Holbeach Air Cadets were given a behind-the-scenes look at the vehicles and equipment used by the on call team.
They were also given fire safety advice as part of the visit.
The evening then became an initiative challenge when the cadets were told to transport water to an ‘improvised’ fire.
Their choice of vessel including a bucket full of holes, an inverted traffic cone and anything else they could utilise.
“It was no surprise that on an extremely hot evening, this soon escalated into a ‘to the skin’ soaking for everyone who took part.” said a spokesman.
The cadets, aged between 12 and 18, meet on Wednesday and Friday evenings at the Chuch Street HQ and information can be found online.
Anyone considering becoming an on call firefighter at Holbeach can find information on the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Recruitment website.
