Wallis leads an invasion of Rutland

The highest concentration of Parkrun competitors for Halmer Harriers was at Rutland Water, where five of them were in action.
Martin Wallis led the way with a time of 24:57 for 108th place, followed by Karen Wallis, 319th 35:15; Jayne Pell, 329th 36:25; Kathryn Chapman, 355th 41:26; and Katherine Baxter, 368th 50:46, in a field of 380 runners, walkers and joggers.
Simon Eldridge was the highest-placed Halmer Harrier at Saturday’s Snowden Field Parkrun in Crowland.
He completed the 5K course in 25 minutes, 21 seconds to cross the line in ninth place.
Debs Norman was 47th, 33:21, and Rebecca Pearce 49th, 33:42, of the 59 finishers.
Richard Williams was 23rd at the Wisbech Parkrun in 22:34, and Adam Caress came ninth at Denton Dene in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with a time of 20:14.
At Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire, Steve Lane clocked 23:19 for 90th place of 457 finishers.
