One dead and two seriously injured in A16 RTC

A woman has died and two people were left “seriously injured” after an RTC on the A16 between Spalding and Sutterton yesterday evening.

The incident, involving a tractor, a van and a car, occurred just after 6.45pm last night (Tuesday).

Three people were taken to hospital.

This morning (Wednesday) Lincolnshire Police reported that the passenger in the car, a 51-year-old woman from Sutterton, had died as a result of her injuries.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “Just before 6.45pm we were alerted to reports of a three vehicle collision on the A16 between the Sutterton roundabout and Surfleet roundabout. The collision involved a tractor, a black Mitsubishi, and a white Volkswagen ‘Enterprise’ rental van.

“Two people from the Mitsubishi and one person from the van were all been seriously injured.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage of the incident.”

In a seperate statement on Wednesday morning, they said: “The passenger from the Mitsubishi, a 51-year old woman from Sutterton, has not survived her injuries. Her family have been informed.”
