Jamie Taylor’s incredible unbeaten century fired Long Sutton 2nd to a three-wicket win over Welby in South Lincs and Border League Division One on Saturday.
Batting first at Paradise Field, visitors Welby were all out for 167 thanks to wickets from Danny Sisson (2-45), Steven Milnes (2-29), Ajay Jinah (2-50), Ian Morris (1-27) and James Booth (1-9).
Opener Taylor then set about winning the game single-handedly, making a stunning 112 not out in Sutton’s 171-7. His amazing 78-ball ton included 14 fours and two sixes – and was made all the more impressive by the lack of support he received.
Indeed, only Morris (20) and Andrew Wright (10) managed double figures.
