Support buddies for pupils

Pupils at a Spalding school have their very own little companion thanks to the support buddy scheme.

Headteacher at St John’s Primary School Clare Robinson came up with the idea for everyone to have their very own mascot, friend, companion, partner in crime and work buddy.

She spoke to The Friends of the School who then contacted lots of local companies for sponsorship resulting in every child in the school receiving a buddy.

Sponsors included Fresh Linc, Bulley Davey, Howdens, Worldwide Fruit, Kirsten, Calthrops, Freeworld Foods, Moore Thompson and Andy Waterfall.

Over the coming weeks, Mrs Robinson will be setting tasks for the children to complete with their buddies such as reading challenges, growth mindset tasks, activities that will allow pupils to use their creativity and imagination skills, and many more.
