A spirited comeback failed to stop Pinchbeck United exiting the Lincs Senior Trophy at lower-graded Harrowby United on Tuesday night.

After a goalless first period, the Knights fell 2-0 down at the Environcom Stadium as Spalding United loanee Danny Brooks and Jurelle Philip netted for hosts Harrowby.

Future Lions UCL Premier Division side Pinchbeck are made of stern stuff, however, and hit back when winger Josh Smith fired a low effort into the corner.

Striker Ewan Fieldhouse then jumped off the bench to equalise and force a penalty shoot-out, but the UCL Division One-based Arrows edged that 4-3.

Pinchbeck, third in the table, must now regroup ahead of their home date with second-placed Rugby Town on Saturday (3pm).

Knights: Lovelace, Wilson, Field, Gardner, Bishop, Shipley, Ogden, Beeson, Edwards, Josh Smith, Maltby. Subs: Bayliss, Fieldhouse, Jack Smith.
