PDFL round-up: Harrox’s unbeaten run shattered, nice and three-sy for Tydd

Table-topping Moulton Harrox were handed their first ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division defeat of the season on Saturday as Whittlesey Athletic thrashed them 4-0.

After going 15 games without a defeat in the league, goals from Matthew Heron (2), Jamie Darlow and Dave Kilby handed Kev Nottingham’s charges a heavy beating.

Despite the defeat, Moulton remain very much the team to beat and stay seven points clear ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Stamford Lions (2pm).

The score was also 4-0 as second-placed Netherton United saw off Holbeach United Reserves at The Grange.

The defeat sees Phil Barnes’ side drop to fifth in the standings.

Indeed, the only South Holland side to win in the top flight was Tydd.

They picked up a 3-1 success at Ketton thanks to goals from Joe Reed (2) and Daniel Monaghan.

In Division One, a goal from Alex Lyon couldn’t stop Spalding Town from losing 2-1 at Uppingham Town.

Jordan Kirchin and Stephen Wells got the other goals as Crowland climbed into the top ten.
