Special guests enjoy day at fair

VNG010514-10More than 150 children from special schools enjoyed all the fun of the fair for a special event.

The youngsters were the guests of Roger Tuby Jnr and his wife Sophie for an afternoon of rides and candyfloss, organised with the help of Spalding Lions Club.

The outing for children and adults from Spalding’s Garth and Priory Schools, Chappell Centre, speech and language department at Monkshouse School and Gosberton House School, continues a long tradition.

It is believed that the fair’s owner Roger Tuby Snr started donating the use of the fair on a Thursday afternoon around 40 years ago.

Jean Biggadike, of the Lions, said: “It was a wonderful afternoon, with Mr Tuby saying it was one of the best afternoon he remembers and our president Elaine Mothers enjoying all the rides with our guests.”
