Staff and pupils at Spalding’s St Paul’s Primary School are celebrating a ‘Good’ outcome to the latest Ofsted report.
Inspectors also awarded ‘outstanding’ in leadership and management.
Describing the school as ‘caring and supportive of pupils,’ the report highlighted the fact staff and children said it had improved significantly.
“The school has high expectations of what pupils can achieve and how they should behave,” it says.
“There is an ambitious, broad and well-planned curriculum in place. The school continually reviews the curriculum to ensure that it meets pupils’ needs,” it continues.
Headteacher Selina Ratchford said everyone connected with the school should be proud of the report.
“They work hard, are kind and happy in school and the inspection team saw this first hand, along with our well-skilled staff in action. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my team for all their incredible hard work. They deliver day in and day out, providing our pupils with a high quality education,” she added.
The school joined the Community Inclusive Trust (CIT), based in Long Bennington, near Grantham, in 2020.
“The school ensures that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities are well supported. Staff adapt their teaching and use carefully selected resources,” the report says.
“Children in the early years get off to a strong start. They learn in a supportive and nurturing environment. There are clear routines that the children follow.”
The school has 236 children on the roll aged from two to 11 years old. Pupils feel safe and know they can talk to staff
“Reading is at the heart of the curriculum. The school is committed to ensuring that every pupil has the knowledge and skills to read fluently and confidently. Pupils start to learn to read as soon as they start in school.”
