Two in court over hotel assault

Two people charged following an assault at a Spalding hotel have appeared in court.

Lincolnshire Police were called to the Travelodge at the Springfields Outlet Centre in Spalding at about 9.45pm on Tuesday 24 June.

Danny Lodge, 24, of Bishops Way in London and Leanne Thornton, 42, of Low Gate in Gosberton, were arrested and today (Thursday) appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.

Lodge pleaded guilty to three charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, doing an act tending and intended to pervert the course of public justice and assault on an emergency worker.

Ms Thornton did not enter any pleas.

Her case was adjourned until September 1. A provisional trial date was set by Judge Simon Hirst of 15 December at Lincoln Crown Court.

Lincolnshire Police previously said the victim was taken to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Officers said they were asking witnesses to come forward if they have not already been in touch.
