Reconstruction work starts on A17

Major stretches of the A17 will be reconstructed over the coming weeks.

A month-long improvement programme is due to start next Monday.

Subject to weather conditions, the resurfacing will start in Fosdyke on Monday, September 3.

The Old Main Road and A17 junction mouth will be closed from 8pm to 6am for one night. There will be temporary two-way traffic lights on the A17 during working hours. A diversion will be signposted via the A17 and C794.

Work will begin at Saracen’s Head from Manor House Road to Saltney Gate junction for ten days on September 4. On September 13 work will start at Algakirk for 11 nights from 8pm to 6am.

The road will be closed during working hours and diversions will be in place for both schemes.
