Pyramid F move into second spot after convincing 6-0 win

Pyramid F have jumped two places into second in Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League thanks to a whitewash win.

They beat Holbeach D 6-0 narrowing the gap on leaders Pyramid C, who lost 6-0, to nine points.

The F team were helped on their way to a win by Mark Gray’s (o98) brilliant 86 clearance and a 22 break. He beat Don Monk (o21) 109-78.

Other winners for Pyramid were Pete Hodgson-Kerry (o21), Carl Gibson (o28), Ian Gibson (r7) and Ian Clare (scr).

Leaders Pyramid C went down 6-0 at home to Boundary A, who move into fourth.

A 50 break wasn’t enough to get Jason Green (o63) a win, as he was beaten 94-87 by Elliott Cox (r7).
Also getting the wins for Boundary were Pete King (scr), Daniel Smith (o35), John Tidswell (o21) and Steve Smith (r21).

Completing the Pyramid trio at the top of the table is Pyramid D, who remain in third after a 4-2 loss to Consti G.

Peter Jackson (scr) won the first frame for Pyramid, before Consti hit back thanks to Neil Grant (r7).

Consti took the next two frames courtesy of Darren Woodberry (o42) and Joe Garland (o7), before Peter Sharpe-Grose (r7) picked up a second point for Pyramid.

A 5-1 home loss for Consti H against Gosberton A means they drop three places to fifth.

Doug Garfoot (o28) was their only winner, while Paul Wright (o7), Carl Wand (o7), Jamie Mumby (o28) and Alan Jackson (scr) got the points for Gosberton.

Donington C got a good 5-1 home win over Consti E.

Mick Pearl (o14), Neil Favell (o21), Matt Turner (o28) and Shaun Pickering (r7) took the first four frames for

Donington. Sean Jeynes (o14) won the final frame, claiming a single point for Consti.

Services D dropped a place to the foot of the table after a 5-1 loss to club mates Services A.

Jake Haslam (o14), Phil Spencer (o14) and Martin Spencer (o28) won the first three frames for the A team, before Ian Smith (r7) pulled one back for the D team.

Chris Dunmore (o42) rounded off the win, beating Russ Morse (scr).

Holbeach C got their fourth win of the season, beating Services C 5-1.

Winners for Holbeach were Dan Ashton (o7), Terry West (r14), Paul Ashton (r14) and Nick Edwards (r14).

Nigel Cherry (o14) got the better of Mark Gregory (o35) in the final frame to get a point for Services.
Division Two leaders Holbeach B were without a match on Thursday, allowing second placed Pyramid A to close the gap to five points.

Pyramid beat Holbeach A 4-2 to move up one place.

The match could have gone either way though, with three of the five frames going down to the black.

Holbeach E dropped a place to third after losing 4-2 to Pyramid B.

Richard Clark (o14), Darren Hibbins (o7) and Carl Kelham (r7) took the first three frames and the match for Pyramid.

Carl Andrews (r7) and Ethan Lawrence (r7) got the wins for Holbeach.

Fourth-placed Consti F beat Holbeach F 4-2, while Services B lost at home to Whittlesey A 5-1.

Whittlesey C remain at the bottom of the table, after losing 4-2 to Pyramid E.

Steve Thompson (r14), Oli Player (o28) and Neil McLean (r14) were Pyramid’s winners.

Gosberton D got the better of Donington A, thanks to wins from husband and wife Lyn (r14) and Neil Simmons (o21) and Daniel Hanger (scr).

Holbeach G extended their lead at the top of Division Three by a point, thanks to a 5-1 win away to Consti J.

Ben Harding (o42), Dave Willy (o35), John Dawson (o21) and Ian Woodberry (scr) were Holbeach’s winners. Trev Braybrook (r21) got the solitary point for Consti.

Boundary B are holding on to second place, after beating Consti I 4-2.

Ash Hayward (o21) got Boundary off the mark, beating John Bellerby (r14), before Pete Stokes (r21) hit back for Consti.

Phil Tweddell (scr) made it 2-1 to Consti, but they couldn’t hold on to the lead, with Boundary taking the final two frames courtesy of Rich Wilson (o14) and Mick Goddard (o7).

Consti A moved up two places to third thanks to a 4-2 win over Gosberton B.

Paul Kent (r7), Wayne Wilding (o14) and Louis Steadman (r14) won the first three frames respectively to give Consti the win.

Consti D rose two places to fourth thanks to a 5-1 win over friendly foe Consti B, who fall to sixth.

Steve Moore (r21), Geoff Ellingworth (r21), Martin Perkins (o28) and John Cooper (r28) got the wins for the D team.

Consti C got the better of Gosberton C, beating them 4-2.

Wins came from Terry George (r14), Kevin Sweeney (r7) and Steve Crane (r7).

Donington B were victorious away to Whittlesey B, winning 4-2, thanks to Pete Burrell (o7), Phil Burrell (scr) and Gav Lewis (o14).
