Popular Spalding six-a-side league is still open to new teams

The new Spalding Leisure League season has just started – and there is still time to get one of the last few remaining spots in the six-a-side competition.

The competition takes place at Glen Park in Surfleet and has been proving very popular.

With a few games gone, Boston lead the way, but there is space for just a couple of teams to challenge them.

All equipment is provided and the games are refereed by qualified local officials, with all profits are donated to charities and good causes including Cancer Research and The Dogs Trust.

The winners and runners-up are competing for a host of star prizes, including the chance to win a holiday to Germany for the whole team, in a draw done live on Facebook each month.

You can join the league online by visiting www.leisureleagues.net/league/glen-park/spalding-monday and following the instructions.

The price is £30 per team, per week, with games lasting 40 minutes each Monday night.

The defending Premier Division champions are PSV Hangover, who are currently second in the table. As well as leaders Boston, the other sides include Young Guns, Univeg Team, Warriors, Old Guard, Harriers FC and Crouch is Solanke.
