A Sutton Bridge couple are looking to raise awareness and money for charity by running the London Marathon.
Adrian (43) and Michelle Pitt (41) are taking on the 26.2 mile challenge in April for the Batten Disease Family Association.
Batten disease is a group of genetic conditions that cause cells to collect waste instead of getting rid of it.
This leads to seizures, vision loss and problems with thinking and movement.
Only 30 children in the UK have the life-limiting degenerative disease including brothers Finley (9) and Harrison Dodkin (4) of Wisbech.
Adrian met their dad Ben while working at British Sugar.
“I knew nothing about the charity until then,” he said. “I spoke to the charity and was amazed at what they do.
“I entered the marathon on the spur of the moment.
“I was a runner back in the day doing many mud run and a marathon for Asthma UK in 2017.”
While Michelle is collecting personally, Adrian has set up a fundraising page which is at www.justgiving.com/page/adrian-pitt-1
