Music and magic part of churches’ weekend

There’s lots of entertainment lined up over the weekend as part of This Life, Live It.

Organised by the churches of Long Sutton, Lutton and Dawsmere, the events take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Leicester’s De Montfort University Gospel Choir kick off proceedings on Friday at 7.30pm. The concert takes place at St Mary’s Church, Long Sutton.

Renowned illusionist Steve Price will entertain at St Mary’s Church Hall, Long Sutton, on Saturday (7.30pm).

One of the UK’s busiest and most established magicians, Steve is a gold star member of the Inner Magic Circle, a past secretary of The Magic Circle and he has also won The Magic Circle’s Originality Prize.

His unique blend of laughs, mystery and stunning sleight of hand has thrilled tens of thousands of people.

Everyone is welcome on Sunday at St Mary’s Church Hall from 12.30pm for a family barbecue and face-painting.

At 2pm there will be Songs of Praise with Boston’s Salvation Army Band and Bishop David (of Grimsby).

There will also be the chance to have your photograph taken with cartoon characters and a licensed balloon release.

Admission to all these events is free but donations are welcome.
