LETTER: Two issues with Theresa May

As Mrs May becomes our next Prime Minister, I have two major problems with this:
1. Mrs May supported the Remain camp. Can she be trusted with the negotiations?
2. She is not supporting the right of EU citizens currently residing and working in the UK to remain. This is disgraceful.
The leave campaign supported existing residential rights.
UKIP that actually caused the referendum to be called has always said that the lives of existing EU citizens already living and working in the UK should not be affected.
These people need assurance and they need it NOW. They should not be treated as pawns in Mrs May and Mr Hammond’s “negotiation” game.
We should show the EU how to behave in a civilised fashion instead of using human beings in a mud slinging contest.
