Moped rider who crashed into car was twice drink drive limit

A Holbeach moped rider has been banned from driving after he collided with a car while more than
twice over the legal limit for alcohol.

Brogan Moody, 24, of Rathkenny Close, who admitted the offence and one of having no insurance, was
said to have collided with a car at 9.35pm on July 16 at Willington Road in Boston.

Prosecuting at Boston Magistrates Court, Marie Stace said Moody was arrested after providing a positive
breath test with a later reading of 80 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath, the legal limit being 35.

Moody, who was not represented, had nothing to say to the magistrates.

He was fined £300 on each of the charges and was banned from driving for 20 months, although he was
offered the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course, which will reduce the period of the ban by 20 weeks.

He was also ordered to pay a total of £205 in court costs and charges.
