LETTERS – Why is butcher’s lorry there?

We frequently read articles and hear discussions in the media about rejuvenation of town centres.
With regard to Spalding in particular, why does SHDC think it is appropriate to allow the large Five Fields butcher’s lorry from Coventry to park a few meters away from one of only two remaining butchers’ shops in our once thriving town? In fact, why is it here at all?
The number of empty shops in the town is lamentable to say the least and the stall market is a shadow of its former self.
The latest gem reported is that Springfields Outlet Centre has not done the town centre any favours.
This was predicted by many of us in 2004.
