LETTERS – Fines for feeding pigeons

According to Coun Grocock the pigeon problem in Spalding has ‘diminished’ or words to that effect.

Last week outside a popular eating establishment I found diners sharing their outside seating arrangements with guess who?

I have a question for Councillor Grocock – how much more ratepayers’ money are you going to waste on stupid projects such as pigeon control by engaging expensive contractors to fly raptors around Spalding town?

It’s fairly obvious it’s not working and never will.

Another time last week there were battalions of pigeons strutting around, particularly around the seating area opposite Boots, being fed by the public what appeared to be the contents of their lunchboxes.

I did ask them to stop, which they did.

There needs to be a fine system for this practice and identification by CCTV and facial recognition would help.

However the easiest way to implement this is to install the infamous speaker system which would cut down on administration, re pursuing individuals for fines.
