LETTERS – Bungalows are a death trap

I am saddened to hear about the loss of life in the fire in Whaplode Drove.

I have a brother that lives in that road and I am so worried about the plan of these bungalows.

I am not sure if you are aware of the layout of these bungalows, but I am amazed that there is only one way in to these bungalows and once inside if there is a fire in the front room, kitchen area there is only one door so you would have to climb out of a window. This is not a possible option for most elderly people.

Surely South Holland District Council should have done something about this already.

I am not surprised that someone has lost their life because no one could ever get out of these bungalows once a fire has started. They are a death trap.
