LETTER: Nothing but praise for Dr Nathu

I was greatly saddened by the directive from the NHS whereby they informed me that Dr Nathu is to retire.

I wonder, was she used as a scapegoat because I’m sure there are many inefficiencies in other practices in the town?

I was also appalled by the inflammatory letters that you, in my opinion, allowed to be published unprofessionally in as much that the inquiry into the said practice was still ongoing.

There will always be a few patients that are not satisfied by any given doctor’s defence and sometimes vindictive comments are made towards the doctor.

In the doctor’s defence they are only human and consequently are allowed to err.

As a patient of Dr Nathu I have nothing but admiration and praise to give her.

I have been a patient of hers since she first started the practice and I can honestly say her conduct as a doctor has been exemplary.

She was often prepared to care for people way outside the call of duty.

Human nature, I’m sad to say, is vindictive towards anyone making the occasional mistake.

I remain her faithful patient and wish her a happy retirement.

Nil desperandum Doc – my Parkinson’s, as of yet, remains in no great shakes.
