It’s your last chance to have your say on two consultations on how South Holland and also Spalding are run.
The consultation into the Local Government Reorganisation, which will see the creation of unitary authorities to replace Lincolnshire County Council and South Holland District Council, closes today (Thursday).
A separate consultation on the proposal to create a town or parish council for Spalding is open until Monday (March 30).
Authorities have put forward four different ideas on how Lincolnshire be governed in future.
The South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, of which South Holland District Council is a member alongside Boston Borough Council and East Lindsey District Council, is looking to create two councils, Northern Lincolnshire and Southern Lincolnshire comprising its councils and, North Kesteven and South Kesteven
The City of Lincoln Council has proposed four unitary councils including a Rural Lincolnshire council with South Holland in with Boston, East Lindsey, South Kesteven and other parts of North Kesteven and West Lindsey minus seven wards.
North Kesteven’s proposal would lump South Holland in with the other Kestevens while Lincolnshire County Council’s proposal would see it effectively take over the running of the current district councils.

The larger authorities have led to renewed calls for a council to be created to oversee Spalding.
The town is unusual in not having a council with many things such as parks overseen by the soon to be no more South Holland District Council based in the town.
Coun Dave Ashby, chairman of the community governance review working group at South Holland District Council, said: “This is your opportunity to share whether you would prefer more localised decision-making or are satisfied with the current arrangements.
“With changes to local government impacting district councils like South Holland, a town council would still allow a level of local governance, a voice for the local community and localised decision making.
“Your views are very important and we want to hear from you as we start the first phase of the Community Governance Review. Please do take the time to read the information and share your thoughts with us.
“Whether you are a resident of Spalding, a resident of a neighbouring parish, a business owner or represent a Spalding group or organisation, we want to hear from you on how you would like the unparished area of Spalding to be governed in future years.”
