Stroke staff are having a ball

A ward that treats those that have strokes in Lincolnshire is inviting residents to join it for a fundraising ball.
The Stroke Unit at Lincoln County Hospital is putting on The Evening of Hope Ball at the Double Tree by Hilton in Lincoln on Saturday, June 6.
Co-organiser Dr Junaid Khan said: “We are incredibly proud to be doing this for our patients. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the UK.
“Every five minutes, someone has a stroke – and for many patients, the quality of rehabilitation equipment available during recovery can be the difference between independence and long-term dependence.”
Tickets are £65 each and fantastic sponsorship opportunities are also available, with all proceeds going directly to stroke services at Lincoln County Hospital via United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity.
Junaid added: “The ball has been planned and organised by members of the stroke team – doctors, nurses and therapists who care for stroke patients every day. Every penny raised during the evening will go to provide additional equipment that will make a real difference to our patients’ recovery.
