Find nature at Ayscoughfee

Ayscoughfee Hall is to open up for a free Nature Day on Friday, April 10.

Experts will be among those at the Spalding institution from 11am until 3pm.
There will also be creative arts and crafts, nature-themed activities and the popular Nature Trail, which takes families on a discovery walk around the historic gardens.
Guests can also visit the brand-new bug hotel and bird boxes, beautifully crafted by volunteers from the PE11 Men’s Shed, offering new homes to the garden’s smallest residents.
A spokesman for organiser South Holland District Council, said: “Nature Day promises a relaxed, enjoyable and educational day out for all ages, celebrating the amazing wildlife and natural spaces right on our doorstep. Visitors will be able to meet local partners who will be sharing their knowledge about birds, insects, animals and the environment, helping to inspire a love of nature in both children and adults.
“Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawns or stop by Ayscoughfee Café for a drink, snack or special treat.”
Nature Day is free to attend and open to everyone, making it the perfect way to enjoy time outdoors, learn something new and get closer to the natural world.
Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for community development at South Holland District Council, said: “Nature Day is a wonderful chance for families to spend time together outdoors, explore the gardens, and learn more about the wildlife that surrounds us.
“I strongly encourage everyone to attend this free and educational event, there’s something for everyone.”
Coun Henry Bingham, Portfolio Holder for Assets and Strategic Planning at South Holland District Council, said: “I’m pleased to see Ayscoughfee Gardens hosting Nature Day, giving visitors a chance to enjoy the grounds and learn more about local wildlife.
“I encourage everyone to make the most of the event, whilst spending the day at Ayscoughfee.”
