There is a potentially GCE Hire Fleet Peterborough League title-deciding, match for Crowland Town at leaders Uppingham Town on Saturday.
A 2-2 draw against FC Peterborough Reserves on Tuesday saw Crowland slip to a fourth game without a win after the form that brought them a 17-match unbeaten run continued to desert them.
A 1-0 defeat at Leverington Sports on Saturday brought an end to that record and they now trail Uppingham by ten points with three games in hand. However, all is not lost, because two of their remaining five games are against the leaders.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Moulton Harrox are closing in, hoping the top two take points off each other to leave the door open for them to sneak in. They sit 14 points off top spot with six games left following their 3-1 win over second-placed Stanground Cardea Sports. Marcus Perry, Joe Townsend and Ryan Stanberry got the second-half goals.
At the foot of the table, Holbeach United Reserves fell to a double defeat against Deeping Rangers Reserves, going down 2-1 on Saturday and then 3-0 in Tuesday’s swift return. McKenzie Lee got the Tigers’ goal on Saturday.
