Harriers prepare to take over run

Simon Eldridge was the only top-ten finisher for Halmer Harriers at the Snowden Field Parkrun in Crowland on Saturday.

His 24 minutes and six seconds time for the 5K run earned him ninth place. He should have more local competition this Saturday though because the Harriers will be supporting the event, both in terms of participants and volunteers.
Rebecca Pearce was the 12th female finisher in 30:19 and tail walker Adam Caress brought up the rear of the 71 runners, walkers and joggers in a leisurely 1:04:57.
Parkrun is a free event and open to all – including dog walkers and buggy pushers. Your only competition is yourself but expect friendly support all around.

Three Halmer Harriers went on tour to Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire to join 117 others competitors. Katherine Baxter came home 9th in 37:15, one place and 21 seconds ahead of Jayne Pell, with Kathryn Chapman completing the course 118th in 58:36.
At the University Parks event in Oxford, Daisy Jowers finished 245th of 650 runners in 25:54.
