Halmer Harriers duo clock up run centuries

Adam Caress celebrated his 100th Snowden Field Parkrun by winning it.

The Halmer Harrier completed the 5k run around the Crowland sports field in a time of 20 minutes, 46 seconds, more than half-a-minute faster than second-placed Andrew Pick, of Run Parkrun With Me.
Caress has completed a total of 207 Parkruns at almost 80 venues, with a quickest time of 19:46. He was last a winner at Crowland in September 2023.
Halmer Harriers clubmate Simon Eldridge was 22nd of 55 finishers in 28:06 – hitting his own personal milestone by chalking up his 100th run in total.
Elsewhere, three members of the Spalding-based club took on the Bug Hunter Waters Parkrun in Cambridge, finishing within seven seconds of each other. Jayne Pell clocked 42:12, Kathryn Chapman 42:18 and Katherine Baxter 42:19, earning them 238th, 239th and 240th places respectively of the 269 runners.
Richard Williams was 23rd at the Wisbech Parkrun, 23:42, and Janet Strickland came 205th at Huntingdon, 32:21.
Halmer Harriers’ final training session of the season will be Thursday, August 1. They return to action on Tuesday, August 20.
