Great support for festival

More than £2,000 was raised for a parish church when visitors from as far away as Blackpool made their way to the annual flower festival.

Fleet Parish Church hosted the festival over four days and was packed with flower arrangements on the theme of ‘God’s Beautiful World.’

There were also craft stalls, refreshments, tombola, plant, book and cake stalls to help boost the takings to £2,750.

Pupils from Wood Lane Primary School visited on the opening day and many children returned with their parents.

There was a range of activities for children.

“We were thrilled to have so many visitors, many of whom commented on the very friendly welcome and the beautiful church,” said a spokesman for the organisers.
