Great day for UAH as A-Level results improve again

University Academy Holbeach students celebrated this morning alongside teachers and staff as an increase in A-Level pass grades was once again recorded.

The UAH sixth-form building was packed out this morning with pupils collecting their BTEC and A-Level results.

Executive Principal Steven Baragwanath said: “I’m really pleased. I’m very pleased with the results. The pass rate’s gone up, we’ve gone up three per cent from last year.

“The average grade at A-Level is C+ which is the same as last year. The pass rate A to C has gone up from 77 per cent to 80 per cent.

“We’ve got far more A grades than we’ve ever had before, nearly 60 per cent of youngsters got grade A or B in Maths.

“Business Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Politics, English, Law, Philosophy and Ethics have all done really well, I’m really pleased.”

Vocational studies students did brilliantly too. Mr Baragwanath added: “We’ve actually got a lot of youngsters with vocational qualifications with a 100 per cent pass rate maintained from last year and the average grade is Distinction which is well above the national average. I’m really pleased for them.”
