Fleet Fete ropes them in

Fleet’s annual village fete on Sunday (June 8) once again proved a success.

It included a host of games such as a tug of war contest, a dog show, classic cars and entertainment from the likes of the Spalding Ukelele Orchestra and Phoenix Theatre.

Organiser Paul Barnes said the event was ‘fantastic’.

“The deputy flower queen Briony Mann was in attendance and what a delight to see her get involved in the tug of war with plenty of support from others,” he continued. “Holbeach Air Cadets did us proud once again – providing a lot more to the event than just burgers and hot dogs, although of course these had to be sampled for quality control purposes

“I don’t normally single people out for thanks as the event is a team effort, but personal thanks to Geoff Donley for organising the car show and the Parish Clerk Robyn Negus who once again went above and beyond.

“We did have a slight breeze but the rain held off and there were lots of smiles around the field.“Thanks to everyone who organised, supported and attended and hopefully we will see you all again on June 7, 2026.”
