A Holbeach funeral director has teamed up with Project St Thomas, supporting the community.
Morriss and Haynes is the Spalding’s projects first monthly sponsor, supporting vital community initiatives throughout South Holland.
The business has committed to a monthly sponsorship that will directly fund Project St Thomas’s growing range of community services.
A presentation ceremony was recently held where representatives from Morriss and Haynes received their sponsorship certificate.
“We’re delighted to welcome Morriss and Haynes as our inaugural sponsor,” said Fr Jim Burke, from Project St Thomas. “Their generous support will make a tangible difference to local families and individuals who benefit from our services.”
The partnership will help sustain and expand several key community projects, including Hub in Hub Out – a Sunday meal service operating on a “pay what you can” basis that ensures everyone has access to a hot meal regardless of financial circumstances while providing social connection for those experiencing isolation.
Other initiatives include a weekly coffee morning held every Tuesday from 10am-12pm at 52 St Thomas’ Road, Spalding.
Project St Thomas is also introducing a free weekly community singing group launching Thursday, June 26, from 2pm to 4pm, where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy music, singing, and percussion activities.
“As a family business deeply rooted in the local community, we are delighted to support the important work of Project St Thomas,” said Bryan Morriss, director of Morriss and Haynes.
“Their initiatives address real needs in South Holland, from providing meals and social connection to creating new opportunities for people of all ages. We believe in giving back to the community we serve, and this partnership allows us to contribute to the wellbeing of local residents in a meaningful way.”
Project St Thomas invites other local businesses to join their sponsorship programme.
“We’ve designed flexible sponsorship tiers to accommodate businesses of all sizes,” says Tracey Carter,
Relationship Manager at Project St Thomas. “Whether it’s £25, £50, £100 or our headline sponsorship at £200 per month, every contribution expands our ability to support vulnerable community members.”
