Spalding racer Liam Warren managed a solid 26-point haul from four Thundersport pre-national 600 class races at Cadwell Park as he bids to get his season back on track.
Warren enjoyed finishes of 13th, 12th seventh and eighth at the Louth track to move up to 21st place in the rider standings.
That represented a decent weekend for Warren, who runs Woodgate Fencing Ltd in Spalding, considering he arrived at Cadwell with no real racing set-up.
With a new suspension fitted, the team had to start from scratch and get some base settings in the bike – which took all of the test day and the first race day to get right.
Warren qualified in 12th for race one, but dropped back to 13th place by the end of the opener.
Race two saw him maintain his 12th position at the finish line, with his fastest lap of day one serving as a qualifying time for the two races on the second day.
That saw him 13th on the grid but, with the set-up now bang on the money, he raced up the track to grab a super seventh place.
An equally impressive eighth place in race four completed a much better day for the South Holland speedster, who also clocked a personal best lap of 1.38.70mins.
Warren is currently sponsored by South Lincs Leisure Caravan Sales of Kirton End, Wheels Motorcycles (Peterborough), Bemoto Motorcycle Insurance and BTD Racing (near Peterborough).
He’s back in action at Cadwell this weekend, this time competing in the Derby Phoenix series.
The Thundersport pre-national 600 class is televised via Sky on Motors TV.
