String on strong showings from Boston Rowing Club at two different events

Boston Rowing Club – who boast a host of South Holland members – have enjoyed recent success on two fronts.

They made three ‘A’ finals at the Junior Sculling Regatta held at Eton Dorney’s Olympic course, with J Toynton and Alex Leverage (J14 2X) fourth, M Lambe and B Blanshard (WJ15 2X) fifth and R Latka and J Lakta (WJ16 2X) fourth.

J Gavey & O Tunnard (J16 2X) were sixth in their ‘B’ final too.

Meanwhile, the Boston club also managed nine wins at the Peterborough Spring Regatta.

Seven of them came from the juniors as A Leverage and J Toynton (J14 2X), B Blanshard (WJ15 1X), R Latka and J Latka (WJ15 2X), M Lambe, B Blanshard, R Latka, J Latka and Cox L Belton (WJ15 4X+), J Toynton (J14 1X), B Blanshard (WJ15 1X) and M Lambe and B Blanshard (WJ15 2X) all picked up victories.

The masters enjoyed two wins of their own in the Mas D4+ (P Latka, R Parker, P Burns, A Appletree and cox L Belton) and the MasD8+.

The star of the weekend was Boston Rowing Club’s 16-year-old Cox Lewis Belton, who did an outstanding job of coxing three crew boats over the finish line to take first place.
