A man who had been out celebrating the birth of his friend’s new baby, was arrested after giving a positive alcohol breath test as he drove home.
Yordan Ganushev, 41, of Teagans Close, Spalding admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.
Jim Clare, prosecuting, said that when he was stopped he appeared to be confused and a breath test revealed a reading of 58 micrograms of alcohol in his breath, the legal limit being 35.
Mitigating, Rebecca Freitas said he had been celebrating with a friend and had thought he was under the limit.
He was fined £250 and ordered to pay £119 in court costs and charges.
He was also banned from driving for 16 months but was offered the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course which will reduce the period of the ban by 16 weeks.
