Flynn Slater’s stoppage-time goal was mere consolation for Pinchbeck United at South Normanton Athletic in Division One of the United Counties League on Saturday.
The hosts were already 3-0 up by then, despite the Knights matching them for much of the game.
Athletic went ahead from the penalty spot after 15 minutes and got a controversial second on the half-hour mark after the ball appeared to have gone out of play in the build-up.
Slater was denied by the goalkeeper in a one-on-one and Josh Panton missed the chance to half the deficit before the Derbyshire side added their third.
A late goal in each half from the hosts on Tuesday saw Pinchbeck go out of the Lincolnshire County FA Senior Trophy in the first round at Deeping Rangers.
