Defending champions Spalding Town hit the top of South Lincs and Border League Premier Division for the first time this season on Saturday as they beat Long Sutton by 112 runs.
Good knocks from Rob Ambrose (55), Jon Miles (43), Joseph Broomfield (35) and Jon Manton (30) steered Town to 244-8 batting first at Spalding Grammar School, with Adam Whitaker (4-36) the pick of the Sutton bowlers.
The Sutton reply was a bit of a slog, as they reached 132-4 after 45 overs with skipper Phil Barnes (28) top scoring.
That denied Town maximum points overall, but their haul of 17 sees them take over at the summit, with Sutton falling to third in the standings.
Down in Division One, Chris Dring made 111 as Spalding 2nd scored 222-8 against Boston 3rd, before limiting the hosts to 103-8 in reply in a rain-hit clash.
Pinchbeck also picked up their first win of the season, beating Heckington by eight wickets.
Lee Eyett (4-12) and Andrew Beeston (4-13) starred to bowl the visitors out for 104 at Spalding Grammar School, before Eyett’s unbeaten 40 steered them to 108-2 in reply.
In Division Two, Long Sutton 2nd lost by 74 runs against Uffington – who had both Damien Herrick and Ivan Wilson scoring 100 not out.
Jeremy Smith (58) top scored in Sutton’s reply.
