Cook has taste for scoring

A strong home comeback was not enough to deny Holbeach United maximum points in Division One North of the Thurlow Nunn League at Diss Town on Saturday.

They let slip a three-goal lead but held on to win 3-2 and moved level on points with their hosts, who currently occupy the last play-off place.
Kyle Compton pounced on the rebound from Ryan Cook’s eighth-minute strike to put the Tigers ahead.
Cook himself doubled the advantage six minutes before the break with a
20-yard screamer and another long-range effort from Callum Wright made it 3-0 six minutes into the second half.
The home side pulled one back with 20 minutes to go and set up a nerve-racking finale with a second in the last eight minutes.
Tigers: Waters, Yambasu, Lee, Ling, Oldham, Carter, Compton, Ibeneme, Wright, Thorne, Cook. Subs: Szablowski, West, Barnes.
Attendance: 71.
Holbeach have been drawn at home to Skegness Town in the first round of the Lincolnshire County FA Senior Trophy in a tie to be played on October 16.
Pinchbeck United will travel to Deeping Rangers a day earlier.
A spate of cup action sees Holbeach at Shirebrook Town this Saturday in the FA Vase, while Pinchbeck are at Heacham in the League Cup next Tuesday following their first-round win at Holbeach.
