Beales goes into administration

Department store Beales, which has a branch in Spalding’s Market Place, has been placed into administration.

This morning it announced that it had appointed administrators.

It’s understood that the 22 stores nationwide that employ over 1,000 people will continue to trade for the time being.

The store’s website however is currently unavailable.

The chief executive of Beales last week spoke about the propstect of going into administration on BBC Radio Four.
