It was Steve Fox who earned the plaudits at this Sunday’s Tydd Gote Angling Club match at Main Road with his first top three placing since joining the club.
Fox made the most of a good draw to extract 8lb 3oz of quality roach to his long pole and pinkie line to secure the runner-up spot.
But it was Andrew Kilby who took the win again after drawing the same end peg bridge swim for the third consecutive week.
His pinkie and squatt approach at 6m accounted for the majority of his net, with some better roach at 11m in the last half hour boosting his weight to an impressive 11lb 14oz.
Mick Asker, also on the concrete, was third with 7lb 3oz of roach at 10m and Dave Simmonds fourth with 6lb 14oz.
At the Wednesday Open, the outstanding John Taylor put 155 mainly roach on the scales for 14lb 5oz and the win, fishing and loose feeding pinkie at 10m.
Greg Brown was second with 11lb 2oz and Pete Emery in third with 8lb 6oz.
