Third league loss on spin for luckless Pinchbeck United at Oadby

Oadby Town 2
Pinchbeck United 0

Bemused player/boss Ian Dunn admitted that his Pinchbeck United side just aren’t getting any luck after seeing them slump to a third Future Lions UCL Premier Division defeat on the spin.

Goals from Tom Mangan and James Ireland gave hosts Oadby Town a 2-0 triumph on Saturday and demoted the Knights down to seventh spot – their lowest placing this season.

“Oadby are a good side,” said Dunn. “But it’s hard to be too positive after that.

“We’re just not having much luck at the moment – the ball just isn’t dropping for us and decisions just don’t seem to be going our way.

“The best example of that was just before half time, when Ewan Fieldhouse saw a goal ruled out for offside.

“I’ve seen it back and it looked onside to me, but that’s how things are going.

“To be fair to the lads, they absolutely worked their socks off, but we just didn’t have enough quality on the day, to be honest.

“We’ve addressed that be making a few new signings, which is no slight on the lads that are here.

“(Assistant boss) Allan Ross and I won’t accept second best, so we’re doing all we can.

“The positives are that (new signing) Ryan Oliver got 90 minutes, which will do him no end of good after a long period out.

“It was also great to have Tyler Wright back from long-term injury.”

Knights: Lovelace, Wilson, Field, Bayliss, Shipley, Beeson, Josh Smith, Edwards, Fieldhouse, Oliver, Maltby. Subs used: Dunn, Ogden, Wright.
