Roll up for Spalding Fair

Over 110 young people and their carers have enjoyed the first use of Spalding Fair.

Tuby’s Fun Fair’s plethora of rides is back in the town on the Victoria Street Car Park from 6pm tonight (Thursday, October 22) until 9pm on Monday.

As is tradition, first use is given to those youngsters with specialist needs from the likes of the Tulip Academy and adults who use The Chappell Centre.

The Spalding branch of the Lions group organises with Roger Jnr for them to enjoy a slightly slower, less noisy, fair experience.

“It’s always a highlight of us coming to Spalding and it’s part of my dad’s legacy,” said Roger. “I know he’d be proud of us carrying it on and it’s thanks to the Lions we’re doing this.

“It’s all worth it when you’re able to see their reactions to the rides.”

Lions’ Stuart East said: “When you see their faces on the rides, it’s fantastic. They all seem to really enjoy themselves.”

The fair is scheduled to be on from 6pm to 9pm tonight (Thursday), 6pm to 10pm tomorrow, 2pm to 10pm on Saturday, 6pm to 9pm on Sunday and 6pm to 9pm on Monday.
