Pinchbeck United player/boss Ian Dunn is not currently interested in the vacant Spalding United job.
Dunn and his trusted number two Allan Ross have steered the Knights from the ChromaSport PDFL to the top of the Future Lions UCL Premier Division in just two years, making them obvious candidates for the Tulips job.
Social media chatter has suggested that Dunn and Ross were among the favourites to replace Chris Rawlinson in the Tulips hot-seat, but Dunn – although flattered – wants to stay with Pinchbeck.
“I think people are adding two and two together and getting 12,” said the ex-Spalding striker. “To be honest, applying hasn’t crossed my mind.
“We’ve been successful here and have recent history of taking a club forward, so I suppose those looking at the situation feel we’d be the obvious choice.
“It’s very flattering to be linked and it’s a good job for somebody, but we’re enjoying making history with Pinchbeck.
“Every week we’re creating new highs and we’re very comfortable here. I have designs to manage higher, but I’m re-learning managing at UCL standard right now.”
Pinchbeck visit Woodbridge Town in the FA Vase on Saturday (3pm), looking to win their first-ever game in the competition.
The Knights welcome back Tom Sergeant and Chris Shipley, but Ollie Maltby misses out.
Dunn added: “It’s a bit of an unknown game for us. They won their league last season too, so it’ll be a good test. We’d just like to win a game in an FA competition.”
