Who puts the Pride in district?

It’s time to give people in South Holland who deserve recognition the area’s ultimate accolade.

The Pride of South Holland Awards will be back next year and organisers want your nominations for everyone who goes the extra mile in this district.
Who makes a real difference in your area?
Who needs to know that their efforts are appreciated?
Who goes above and beyond day in day out, be it for others that are at a disadvantage or in their ordinary lives.
This year the categories are:
l Young Achiever
l Service With A Smile
l Caring Neighbour
l Senior Citizen
l Volunteer of the Year
l Charity Worker
l Community Sports
l Community Hero
l Bakkavor Community
Champion.
As ever, the awards are organised by Jan Whitbourn, chairman of South Holland District Council.
She said: “The level of entries we get every year never ceases to astound both myself and the judges.
“It’s incredible what people do for others often without thinking twice or looking out for praise.
“This is your opportunity to say thank you to them and give them the recognition they deserve.
“It could be an individual who is checking up on their neighbours to a sports group inspiring young people to be the best of themselves.
“Whatever the situation, we want the names of those who you’re proud of in South Holland .”
Nomination forms for this year can be requested from Jan by email at: [email protected] or phone 07779 895388. Everyone who is nominated will be invited to a special ceremony at the South Holland Centre where each category winner will be announced and hopefully presented with their certificates by a celebrity.
