Overnight closures for town centre roads

Part of Spalding town centre is to be closed at night for around two weeks for resurfacing works.

From July 8 to July 20, different parts of The Crescent, Sheep Market and Spring Gardens will be closed from 8pm to 6pm.

Shaun Butcher, head of highways ssset at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “It’s a full resurfacing programme which will cost around £200,000 to deliver and will ultimately provide a safer and more comfortable road for those that use it.

“The work will be carried out across the night to keep disruption down to the lowest possible levels.

“The machinery used will have the latest sound-deadening technology and will be switched off when not explicitly needed for the job.

“Access will be limited but maintained where possible throughout the scheme and officers will be onsite throughout to help residents where necessary.

“Our crew will do everything they can to complete the works as quickly as possible.

“I would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding whilst we deliver these improvements to this part of Spalding.”
